Remember when the Wizard of Oz was only on once a year? Of course, you don’t–you’re too young. But I do. Delayed gratification–good thing? Bad thing? Discuss amongst your hand-puppets and report back.

Have a great wknd.

jmp on January 23rd, 2010 9:18 am

Though, I must say that it’s more sad, I think, that these are the things we would be nostalgic for.

When I can purchase my first kiss, the fun times I had driving around doing nothing with friends in high school, and the year I lived abroad during college, on e-bay, nostalgia will be dead.

Until then I’ll still think back warmly on the fun times that I had in the past and enjoy my own nostalgia, even if you can’t.

Oh my god, faaaaaark… One thing I’m sure I will never pine for is the type of comments people have written here. Just leave the freaking cartoon alone & let it speak. It really rang bells with me, if it didn’t then just go on your way & dont say anything. Ashley & John – right on ! Sad?!?!? and Bill Goode, you sound so anal man. You’re thinking back ‘warmly’ because you’re sitting right in your own urine there brother

They don’t make nostalgia like they used to anymore.

treseda on January 25th, 2010 8:52 pm

Hmmm, like some I am a little old to connect completely. I thought it was silly to be nostalgic for nostalgia from my point of view. Then I realized, ta Da! another point of view: that of the next generation. And, true enough that I do not care for high def Casper the Friendly Ghost. I like him fuzzy and a little squeaky. I like the mumbling Popeye and the lip-smacking Bugs. It makes me wonder how that will affect our culture. And I loved the excitement of waiting for the yearly play of the Wizard of Oz. We are indeed very rich in immediate memories.

this reminds me of how much everything has advanced since I was younger and I’m not even that old. Funny comic strip looking forward to seeing more of them.

This is why most of my childhood stuff I don’t download or buy etc. If I do I hardly watch or listen to it because I don’t want to lose the nostalgia. But true non the less.

Cause those were the days of our lives…
The bad things in life were so few..
Those days are all gone now,but one thing’s still true
When I look and I find I still love you..

Sigh.Nostalgic for nostalgia.
