I just don’t get people’s desire to have the first comment. I mean, what does that help them with? Does it have to do with their ego or something, to prove to everyone they were there first?

Why so caps lock?

Hey Dudester,
If you’re referring to the cartoon (and not the FIRST comment) it’s part aesthetic choice, part pragmatic decision but mostly out of habit. When I was first learning to be a cartoonist I read that all the pro cartoonists lettered in caps to make them more readable at a smaller size. See Peanuts, for instance.

I’m still not a pro, but I got that caps-lock thing down pat.
